Earth Island Institute's International Marine Mammal Project (IMMP) announces that Food Lion LLC, based in Salisbury, North Carolina, has agreed to immediately cease all purchases from Dolores Tuna, packed by PINSA of Mexico. National Geographic reports that Florida's crocodiles have stepped back from the brink of extinction. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), which administers the country's endangered species list, has reclassified the Florida population of the American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) from "endangered" to "threatened."
